A lifelong connection to Sorrento’s craftsmanship
From their teenage years, Jasmine, Maria and Giuseppina were introduced to the world of tarsia lignea, Sorrento’s traditional wood inlay. For many years, the three sisters proudly promoted this unique local craft, sharing its beauty with visitors and collectors. They are still remembered with great affection for their warmth, kindness and genuine care for everyone who walked through La Botteguccia’s doors.

Three sisters, one shop
Jasmine, Maria and Giuseppina each had a different personality, yet together they created a unique connection with people from all walks of life. Jasmine and Giuseppina would even welcome American tourists staying at Hotel Tramontano, showing them around Sorrento before bringing them to the shop.
Every October, they also took part in the NATO charity bazaar in Naples, bringing La Botteguccia’s craftsmanship to visitors from the American community and contributing 20% of their sales to charity.
Jasmine
Jasmine was the heart of La Botteguccia. She was the sister who cared most for the shop’s public relations, welcoming customers, talking with visitors and creating genuine connections. Her warmth and natural way of making people feel special left a lasting impression on those who came through the shop.
Maria
Maria supported her sisters in the daily life of La Botteguccia, helping both with customers and with the preparation and packaging of the shop’s pieces. Always ready to lend a hand, she was an important part of the warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the shop feel so personal.
Giuseppina
Giuseppina began working at La Botteguccia when she was very young. She packed the jewellery boxes, helped load the wooden crates used to ship them to America, and welcomed visitors with the same warmth she brought to everything she did. She had a natural gift for making people feel at home.

A recognized craft
We work with the Unione Artigiani Intarsio Sorrentino, the guild that safeguards the tradition of Sorrento wood inlay. Every piece we sell carries the guild’s registered trademark, a mark of authenticity for work made the traditional way, by hand, in Sorrento.
